Latest news from South America & Spain

Christian and Monica have continued their work within the realms of higher education with further additions to the list of Universities who recognise Anglia Examinations. The Ascentis Anglia qualifications, B2 and above, are identified by these universities as being appropriate levels of English Language competency. However, different Universities recognise different levels for their wide range of courses. As the list grows, Anglia is brought to the attention of further outstanding educational establishments and Christian, Monica and the rest of the Anglia Ascentis Local Team are continuing to work hard in this important area.

Additions have also been made within South America and Spain in terms of new countries and centres. Colombia and Chile are now part of the network and Paraguay has clearly increased its number of candidates sitting exams in new areas of the country. Peru and Uruguay continue going from strength to strength and 2010 marks the first year that the latter will be offering the Anglia Certificate/ Diploma in Applied Translation. We expect to see this qualification being taken by many more candidates within the entire network soon. Having built a strong examination base in Argentina with various exam levels being made available, the growth in South America has been impressive.

There are also new exam centres in Spain with candidates taking their exams in June and others in several parts of the country have already agreed to start offering Anglia examinations in 2011.

The recent launch of the Step To book series within the network has been most welcome by a large number of schools and teachers and we are now in the process of receiving and processing book orders until 1 June 2010. We believe many exam centres will gradually adopt these invaluable new resources.
