Chris Kunz- Academic Representative, and Monica Blanco-Kunz- General Administrator, warmly welcome South American and Spanish learners and teachers of the English language to the Local Network.

The Network started in Argentina back in 1995 and since then has expanded to other countries with an ever-increasing number of candidates sitting Anglia exams year after year. This steady growth is undoubtedly the result of the hard work done by the Local Representatives and their highly committed staff in collaboration with their Local Agents in the different areas within The Network.

As we speak, there are Network members in Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Paraguay and Venezuela in South America as well as Spain in Europe. All these countries have direct links to their Anglia Central Exams Office in Buenos Aires.

The Network has signed Anglia membership agreements with primary / secondary schools and colleges / universities, both in the private and the state sectors, as well as with private language schools and other ELT-related organisations. The market is varied and full support is given to all sectors.

The range of exams being used within The Network is made up of all three major Exam Batteries, i.e. Children's Orals (3 levels), General English (10 levels) and Business English (4 levels).

Battery I - Children's Orals: these tests are designed to assess the level of spoken English of children from 4 years of age. Assessment at this level is based upon successful interactions between the candidates and the interlocutor.

Battery II - General English: these tests include assessment of the four skills, taking an accuracy-based approach to the reading and writing skills while focusing primarily on communication for listening and speaking, for a combination of accuracy and fluency.

Battery III - Business English: these tests also include assessment of the four skills. Candidates are asked to process and produce information within the context of real-life business-related situations.

The C.I.T.E. (Certificate for International Teachers of English) exam is gradually gaining popularity within The Network and more and more teachers are sitting either or both versions of the test, i.e. General Training / Young Learners.

On top of the qualifications mentioned above, there are practising ESL / EFL teachers within The Network following the Certificate / Diploma in TESOL programme via distance learning.

All of us within The Network have now plans to reach even further afield and sign agreements in more South American countries as well as in new areas of Spain. We will keep you informed of the latest news regarding our expansion plans.
