Are Anglia exams suitable for candidates of any age and culture?

There is no age limit for candidates. Students will enter at the level of study they or their teacher considers appropriate. There is an Anglia placement test to help determine which level of examination is most appropriate. Anglia exams are taken in over 20 countries across 3 continents. They are written only to test English comprehension and candidates from any background should feel comfortable taking one.

Can a candidate with a physical/learning difficulty take an Anglia exam?

Can I use my Anglia exam to get to university?

The number of universities which accept an Anglia certificate is growing all the time. Since 2014, our top four levels have been Ofqual accredited through our partnership with AIM . However, applications are often considered on a case-by-case basis.Our Mastery Exam has been awared UCAS tariff points which mena that it can count toward your application to Uk Universities.Anglia UCAS tariff points.

Do candidates have to take every language skill (reading, writing, listening & speaking)?

It depends what you want to use the qualifications for. Your certificate will declare which skills you have taken examinations in. Some centres offer the possibility of optional elements at some levels.

How can I verify my certificate?

You can verify your certificate online through the 'verify Anglia exam results' page if you took an Anglia exam after 2019. If you have taken an Anglia exam before the year 2019, please fill out the form located on this page.

How do I register for an Anglia exam

How long are Anglia qualifications valid for?

Anglia qualifications are valid for the rest of your life. However, as with all qualifications, the longer ago you took it, the greater chance there is that an employer or institution will ask you to reconfirm your skills to their satisfaction.

I haven't received my certificate, what do I do?

You will recieve your certificate within three months of taking an Anglia exam. If you have not recieved it, please contact your local representative as soon as possible after this deadline. After six months, any certificate required will be classed as a 'reprint' and will therefore incur an administration charge.

What are the benefits of having an Anglia qualification?

Students study to gain an Anglia qualification for many reasons. Some universities will accept Anglia Proficiency if you want to study in the UK. Employers often like to see that a person has successfully studied a course in English. Others will take an exam just because they enjoy studying, and want to improve their English.

What do I do if I have lost my Anglia certificate?

If you have lost your Anglia certificate, please contact your local representative of the country where the exam was taken. You can fill out a contact form on the country page. The country representative will then contact HQ on your behalf to request a reprint of the certificate.

If the exam was taken before 2014 we cannot issue a replacement certificate. However, if we can verify on our system that you have taken an Anglia exam we can issue an official verification slip that you have taken the exam.

What is the CEFR?

The Common European Framework of Reference (abbreviated to the CEFR or CEF) shows what level language learners are at. Read more about the CEFR level scheme.

What is the difference between Proficiency (C1) and AcCEPT Proficiency (C1)?

The difference between Proficiency and AcCept Proficiency is in the completion of the acedemic essay. In the Proficiency (C1) exam paper you can choose to answer either W1 or W1a. If you choose to answer W1 you will be put forward for the Proficiency (C1) exam. If you choose to answer W1a, which is the academic essay, you will automatically be marked as an AcCEPT Proficiency candidate. An example of a W1 question is 'Describe your favourite place to visit at the weekend'. An example of a W1a question is 'More and more people are becoming vegans, is this a cause for concern or a positive development?'

Who can take an Anglia exam?
